Oil becomes corrosive due to combustion, so you aren't being too OCD. My friend's boat launched a rod through the oil pan a few weeks ago and I suspect it's due to sitting with used oil in there.

Better to just use it more. Then you don't have to worry about it. Haha.
Seriously. I would change it. You know cars used to be 3 months or 3000 miles. There had to be some reason for the 3 months.

I had a whopping 8 hrs on my boat this year and decided to change my oil anyway. Like Jim said the combustion remnants that end up in the oil are bad for the engine sitting for such a long period of time. There are also typically additive packages in the oil that break down over time. Fresh oil for its winter nap is the best idea. I did not change the tranny oil this year though as I am sure that will be fine. Just checked the level to make sure everything was ok.

I changed mine end of this season, 13H for the summer.

Cost of doing business is the way I look at it.

Every year, new oil/filter - fuel filter - fuel water separator - impeller - transmission fluid.

Less than $100 in parts if you DIY. Cheap insurance. Spark plugs are dirt cheap too, I think I will do those yearly as well.

I have MCOCD, it's ok.

8 hours total..so sad. Took it for a long warmup ride, then home for oil change, pickling and interior cleaning. Ready for winter slumber....earliest winterizing in the log book by 5 weeks....usually skiing into November
