Best way to clean the upholstery
Just bought some vinyl shampo in a diy shop but by trying to get my upholstery nicely white and clean again, nothing happens. So before I am going to invest too much time my question is how do you get that vinyl back to almost new condition (beside the condition of the fillings) and what do you use?
Thank's for your help. |

i use babes seat soap on my x-15, but i used some turtle wax upholstery foam with the scrubber on the cap on my 205V when the vinyl was really dirty.

Malco leather & vinyl cleaner, ive used a few different products and always thought they were great, but Malco is by far the best cleaner with minimal scrubbing with a soft bristle brush, oh then finish off with 303 protectant

When I cleaned my upholstery for the first time in my 91 I had, nothing would touch it and I mean nothing.
I ended up using magic erasers, black streak remover for an RV and lots of water. Never letting it sit on the material. Then a lot of 303 after that, actually rubbing it into the upholstery with my hands prior to wiping it

Bought an '02 x-star this summer and the vinyl was gray... after cleaning with "Babes" and a soft brush (Like tooth for the stitching and a Nail brush for larger areas) it is GLEAMING white again!

I like using la's totally awesome orange to get off dirt, etc. Remarkable stuff found at the dollar store
magic eraser if something just won't gtfo (small marks) Star brite mildew remover for mildew etc Star brite vinyl polish and cleaner to whiten it up (love this stuff) 303 to finish it all off be careful with the magic eraser. It is abrasive and if you use it enough it will dull.tear apart your seats. |

I agree with the watching of the magic erasers.
I wonder if the old vinyl is thicker and able to have a more rigorous cleaning done to it???

Ive use Lexol (which can be purchased at most local auto parts stores) with a microfiber followed by 303 to protect the vinyl. Works great and never had to scrub the vinyl hard at all.

Our 2005 X10 is getting a little yellow on the seams. I made the mistake of the magic eraser one year...dulled my seats. Took a lot of 303 to get the shine back.
Anyone have a good fix for the yellowing? Travis Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
