Bimini Extension

Anyone have experience putting an extension on their Bimini top? Have an 08' MariStar 245 and want to get some additional coverage for the back of the boat.

Interesting question. I have considered the same thing. I wish mine covered the back seat. I know it might not look cool, but it would be cooler than all day sun and sun burn.

Especially when your just out anchored down. I've considered getting a small sun shade sail and connecting 2 points on the tower and the tip to the ski pylon or rear bar. Couldn't use while moving but at least it would be something.

just thinking out loud, but what if you got a second bimini and mounted it backwards from the rear legs? You would have to customize the length of the poles to get the desired angle, but it may not be too much work and would fold up against the tower just like the front does

That's a possibility I hadn't thought of. I know there is a market for this because the standard top just doesn't cover enough of the boat. Thanks for the idea!

There is a custom cover place around here that used to do them. This thread should give you an idea...
