Fooling around with the laser cutter

Heh. I've actually been making panels, using that exact material. I've got patterns for the 87-90(stealth fighter windshield) Prostar switch panels and just finished making a pattern for an early 90's Maristar.

As far as other ideas, you guys tell me what you want, size and text/logo and I can post proofs. A flat plate engraved from behind for a hitch is no problem, though you'd be on your own as far as actually attaching to the receiver. I can probably do it in different colors of acrylic as well. Might be able to do Lexan as well. More scratch resistant, but not recommended for laser cutting. Cup holder inserts wouldn't be tough if I knew the diameter. They'd just be thin disks of acrylic. You could light them up however you wanted.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in something specific, let me know what you want and I'll get going on it. (Links are helpful for specific items/logos etc.)
FYI- max dimensions are 12" x 24".

No toes stepped on. I'm just trying to help folks out and help fund upgrades and repairs to my 88.
My wife is much more supportive of me spending money on the boat when I don't have to dip in to the bank account to do it.

How about custom 'dash badges' - could have mastercraft logo or star image or logo related to boat, boat year, type, engine, owners name <- some mix of this as desired.

Greg I like the hitch idea, I was thinking more full size license plate.. Kinda of like the Chevy one I'm attaching but etched from the backside with some color behind it.. If I was more computer inclined I'd draw something

clrussell- I'll work on that. I brought an old license plate in to work, I'll see if I can get it drawn up in the next few days. Maybe something with the MasterCraft text or a boat outline.

Maristardd- I really like that dash plaque idea. The text could be the boat model and/or owner's name or the logo of a ski club. That wouldn't be too tough at all. I'll draw up some ideas and post them. What would you like yours to say?
