Which sac for a 197?

Hi guys, don't know how many of you have done the install on a 197 but I am looking to add a fat sac to the 197 which I am expecting in a month or so. Most aussies like to do a bit of everything so I figure I'd make it a little more versatile should the need arise. The MC kit is too pricey and I was looking at a fly high sac with jabsco reversible pump and MC switch and wire. Am seriously looking at the 710 Seat but I realise that is some serious weight for that boat. Just looking for the best option as the underseat set up seems to me to be easily substituted by a couple of well fed lads and a full cooler of frothies. Any advice would help.

Get some fat friends? I think that will work fine if you don't want to slalom on the same trip. Otherwise telling them to tread water for a while may not be highly popular. The ability to drain and fill a sac us nice. If you don't plan to use it much a 750 across the back will work pretty well. One on each side of the engine is better, if you don't mind them clogging up your space and climbing around like a chimp.

Thats it. Just throw the fat chicks out when it is time to slalom right? Much prefer not to have any fat chicks in the first place...

700 is good

I actually have a similar system rigged into my prostar. We ran a reverse pump and installed and overflow. When I was riding behind the prostar I would fill up the back sack which was about 700 lbs and then I had two 450lb bags on each side of the engine and a 200lb block up front. That amount of weight made for a nice smooth wake. You wont get much of a lip out of a prostar but it will throw a decent wake. Here are some really old pics of the wake when I had it weighted like this. Take into consideration the fact that the wake can get washy on one side but thats because I used to load the line pretty heavy when I rode behind that boat and the boat would roll on its side.

I have the Fat Seat ( I think it is 1500lbs) and then I throw anyone I have in the boat as far forward as possible. It really livens up the wake and makes it fun. One of the projects on my list is to do what skishack did and install 2 reversible pumps for easy hookup, fill and drain. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I used to run 2 750s in my 197 when surfing. It was a bit dicey with waves but made it surfable.

Thanks for the advice guys. I know the fat seat is 1500 and I was thinking of doing the same. Sodar, Do you have any pics of what it looks like installed and is it necessary to remove the rear seat entirely or does it fit under the sunpad. Either way it's not a problem, but the idea of tucking it all away under the rear seat appeals to me. Not looking for a killer wake boat, just something that is appealing for most disciplines. It will have the 6 ltr so I am hoping it can manage the load ok.

The sack fits below the seat when the seat is in the upper sunpad position. Sorry, but I do not have any pics.

Sounds perfect for me. It looks like I'll go with this and definitely with the reversible pumps and drain.

O oh. Curve ball. It has been suggested I try a fly high 750 for the rear under the seat and 711 in the bow under the cushions. It is supposed to be 670 lbs for the 711 and there is no way it would ever fill, but has anyone ever done this before and what are your thought?

BUMP> Anyone ever put any weight up front in a 197?
