Where in Madison do you ski? We're still getting out on Lake Monona. If you see a black/gray stars and stripes swing over and say hello.

Will do! We usually head to Lake Mendota, as Marshall Park is literally 5 minutes from our door and I store the boat in the garage all Summer. We put in there and then ski in the sheltered area near Spring Harbor.

However, I'm looking for other options, as well. I've thought about making our way to Lake Monona next year to see how the water is. Do you find it is better skiing than Mendota?

We also made our way to Rock Lake a few times last year and enjoyed that a lot. We went midweek when there was no traffic to speak of. The water was a lot cleaner and about 10 degrees warmer at the time.

Now that the boat has been upgraded, I'm sure we will be looking to hit more of the area lakes in the future. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Temps plunging for us northerners... 5 weeks left for final 2012 run...where should we draw the line for good first cold water ski for us northerners... North of Louisville?

We go to Monona mostly for the fact that the course is there. Live in Cottage Grove but mostly put in at Olin. Monona doesn't have so many large boats, but the traffic s still enough that we usually get out in the early am on weekends. Getting out for a nooner tomorrow.

32 hours left for the 2012 season..... bye bye 2012 - I know I won't be makin' out...

It was a very very good season... Hope we get some snow and rain - still pretty much a drought in most places...
