My 85 is setup exactly like tph's 83. That was the factory layout.

Gorgeous install 83MC. Most people I've seen use the glove box put the deck in there.

best way to do this IMO is to just put an amp in the boat behind the observer seat. Get some RCA wires to plug into a Ipod/Iphone whatever with a headphone jack. This eliminates the need for a head unit. Then just figure out where to put speakers.

Speaker Grill
The grill is made out of mahogany; I have a couple of extras if anyone wants one. Just make me an offer…they have not been drilled for screw locations yet and still need to be sanded…

Yup 83, I do like that install. I like things that are completely reversible with little to no effort.

I've seen this mentioned a lot... but what do you do about the remote wire? When a head unit turns on it sends a signal to an amp to power up. Without a head unit to send that signal, what do you do?
