looking for new wake surfer
I have only been surfing for this year. My family and I love it. My son's friends come out all the time as well ( which are all around my size ). We currently have a Hyperlite Broadcast. Looking to upgrade. I am 5'11"- 175Lbs ish and my son is 5'8" 155Lbs ish.
looking for something we can expand our ability on. Maybe some tricks....360's etc and whatever else I can find on youtube...lol Not sure what to look for. Any info would help. A friend suggested an Inland surfer - contagious??? Not sure if it matters but I have a 04 x10 and am currently upgrading the ballast to improve the wake. The current wake is very short and sweet spot is microscopic. Thanks |

Inland has a few boards that would work well and I would also recommend a custom Soulcraft built for you and your wake. PM sent.

The contagious is a skim board but can be made to ride more like a surf board by adding more fins. My wife has one that she used to ride with added fins so it rode like a surf board. It's very slow on the water. You will need to decide if you want a skim or surf style board first and then go from there.

I haven't ridden the Soulcraft boards so I can't comment on those but based on your original post I would recommend any of these:
4'8" Custom Quad 4'10" Custom Thruster Inland Blue Lake v2 If you don't want to drop a ton of money I would suggest the following: 5'0" Fish

I ride an IS sweet spot. I'm about the same size as you. I love the board but it took some getting used to.

You might try either the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans. Excellent for surfing. You can pick up a board for a great price at one of the local board shops. No hauling the boat, winterizing, or dealing with maintenance issues. And best of all, slalom enthusiasts can actually get out and enjoy the water in your absence.

Hey bro, why so mad? The guy is just looking for some board advice. Don't you know skiers mess up the water for fishermen? Plus, you've got things a little out of order. It's fishermen hate skiers, skiers hate wakeboarders, wakeboarders hate surfers and everybody hates tubers. Most of the ski and wakeboard boats I see are pulling tubers anyway but it's their boat and they can do what they want. People can even come on a wakesurf thread and complain about wakesurfing, even if it makes them look like a total dbag.
