Removing stock ballast tanks

Hey guys,
this is going to sound weird, but i want to remove my stock port and starboard ballast tanks for more storage.

BACKSTORY before i get flamed for even thinking about this idea: its a pickle xstar - nobody uses the stock tanks. i usually have the PWT + KGB + at least 4 people in the boat, so i have plenty of weight (and if that's not enough i have 2 extra bags i've never broke out before). I think if i remove the tanks and convert them to storage i'd get something like the super-deep storage lockers under the port bench seat in the x25. I'd love to be able to store more boards on the boat without the addition of a Z5 bimini (i love the sun, and i think my bimini was out like twice this year, which is why i dont want a z5)

anyone ever try this?

Just admit it Willy, you can't handle that much weight.
