I went with the sw9 over the ruger. Absolutely love it. I'm sure the sr9 is a good gun but as someone said, once you've narrowed it down to a couple, feel in the hand is key. The gun is starting to shoot straight now too.

The Shield and compact models are made for CC- the others can be a bit cumbersome if they're kept in a pocket or some hidden holsters. Shorter barrel doesn't really matter if the "Rule of threes" occurs- the shooting happens most often at 3', in three seconds, with three shots fired.
