Wake the World LakeMead 2012

Yesterday was Wake the World at Lake Mead some 13 boats on hand. Only 3 MC's and a bunch of Supras and a few others on hand for this event sponsored by BoulderBoats (boulderboats.com). St.Judes Ranch was our guest. Great bunch of kids and adult sponsors. This was our second time doing this and I would encourage eveyone to get involved in this type of event. We had 4 girls in our boat and was able to get 1 up on doubles 2 tried 1 a little scared 1 up on the wake board for a short bit. But the 2 person tube we had was actually the winner. The smiles on their faces said it all. They were all eager to try everything but with the time we had we wanted them to have the most fun and I believe they did. The pictures we took tell it all but I'm not posting any of the kids other than my own that helped out. My daughter spent at least 2 hours in the water coaching the kids and making sure they weren't scared. My littlest kept the group entertained. Very proud of both of them.
Jimmy Trask and Wil Christien signing tee shirts and giving wakeboarding demo.
Again big thanks to Stuart and Kristina at BoulderBoats for putting this on.

I'm very involved with WtW Texas. It's an outstanding event to be involved in. Always impactful...usually more for me than the kids.

Wake the World Lake Mead

Wake the World Lake Mead 2013 was yesterday. Our family had a great time with all the kids from Saint Judes Ranch. Big thanks to all the volunteers and of course BoulderBoats and Lake Mead Yacht Club for sponsoring this event. This is the third year in a row for us. If you haven't done this make sure to get in on the next one in your area.

As much as I love WTW. Waves that DO change kids lives. I participated and donated this year to the Illinois sector.

However, I am really surprised they allowed you to take photos of the kids and post them publicly.

We were strictly instructed this was a no no. Privacy issues.

Very glad you are paying it forward, and are excited about it. I'm sure it was just as good for your kids as it was for the WTW kids.

Cheers

Regardless, pictures of Will are strongly encouraged.

Close up pictures are of my own kids other than sponsors. Ok to take pictures as long as no names were mentioned. I do agree with you on the privacy issues.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to argue. This was my first year with WTW and they were pretty strict about it. Made a big to do announcement about it and everything. So I was surprised to see it here on the board. Usual WTW posts are just text and no photos and I always thought if we could just post up a few photos then we could attract more donators or volunteers.

Here is our shirt from this year with sponsors. My company is Galaxy.

This was a great experience for me this year. The kids absolutely love the event. In fact its the event they wait for and talk about all year. The impressions we leave are life lasting.

Your event must have been the last one. Ours was about 2 months ago.

It is just too hot for an event like this any other time. Always the last weekend of Sept.
