Boats

I am looking to buy a new boat. We are trying to decide between an x25, x35, or and x45. Which one has the best wake for wakeboarding and surfing, and which one rides the best in rough water.

Go X45! I have had 3 of them and almost bought an X35 in June and glad I didn't. The surf is awesome with extra ballast in lockers and it rides well. The X35 will sit a little higher and give you more of a bow rider feel and probably handle slightly better in larger water but it's hard to pass on the storage/room of the 45. Good luck.

If you are looking at new, look at the X-30. That boat does it all.

x 25

The x 25 is the only boat that has a comparable wake to the x-star in my opinion. I am not saying that the x30 or x 45 have bad wakes, but the x 25 does produce a better wake. The x25 also has the deepest V in the x series line up, and from what I understand, it rides the best in choppy water. I see a good bit of x-25 saltwater series boats because lots of coastal customers choose them due to rougher water conditions.

All three boats are great for those things and I looked at these options as well. For me it came down to space since we have a lot of people and a lot of boards and with the 45 I never run out of space, I love all the extra room and you can't beat seating for 18!

I wouldn't rule out the new X30 without first demoing one.

your kinda all over the place in the boating world with those 3...
35 is actually the deepest in the line, and the freeboard is definitely the largest, so if rough water concern is #1, then i would look at this one
45 is a monster... could hold an Italian family reunion on it, personally i wouldnt want to trailer it with anything other than a 2500 frame vehicle (my xstar is at the limits of my tahoe). I think it ranks second to the 25 as far as a wakeboard wake but is probably just as good of a surfing boat. Also would want to get the big engine with this boat.
25 is also a large boat, reasonable size with a great wake for wakeboarding and surfing. Would probably be ok with the 5.7 unless your going to absolutely slam it.

for me, i would go with the 25 unless space or rough water ride was a big concern

X25 is going to have the best wakeboard wake. No question. If you are a VERY serious wakeboarder, there is only one choice here.

X30, X25, and X45 all have great surf wakes. I have never surfed an X35, and have never heard much about the surf wake behind it.

Biggest downfalls of the X25 and X35 are the handling. They are excellent in rough water, but they do not handle nearly as well as the X30, or even the monster X45.
