Is there any way to make a 190 prostar sound louder. Do they have different exhaust that sound different?

Kind of like a Harley why make it louder (cause I love that rumbling sound) My son had an 84 SS and I guess his pipes were up a little more out of the water because it sounded fricking awesome when he got on it.

Heck for that matter with the tunes on nobody can hear anything

C'mon guys...who cares if the guy wants to make his newer boat rumble a bit more? It's not as if you're all advocating mufflers for the older boats to keep the sound police happy.

Growing up w/ a SN 2001 which sounded fantastic, I can appreciate the desire to recapture that sound. Not ridiculously loud--just enough to put a smile on your face. I don't ever plan on "rodding" out the silencer on my X2, but would not mind in the slightest if it sounded like that old Pleasurecraft 351.

Lighten up.

Jay

I've seen and heard the PVC route done and its awesome. Louder but not obnoxious. I've also seen and heard just going straight hose from riser to flappers and that was about the same effect.

If you're leery of PVC you could use this. But your exhaust is water cooled, so you should be fine either way.

There is a fantastic write-up on a different brand's web site regarding a 4 inch manifold back dual exhaust with fly-by videos and everything. He used the above linked product and Stainless Marine manifolds and outlets on an older '87 model boat. Will send pm.
