Jason @ wakemakers I have A ?

Jason,

Right now my port pump is mounted impeller up.I would like to mount it impeller down to keep water out of the motor.
I know I will need to reverse the flow somehow.

What is the easiest way to reverse flow?
- thought about just hooking the wires up backwards.
-Also heard I could take the top two screws out of the pump body and just spin the impeller houseing around and reattach. Thus reversing the flow. Is this true

pump is jabsco 18220-1127
Boat is a 2003 X2

Well I am not Jason but I can answer your question.

The easiest way to reverse the rotation has nothing to do really with reversing the pump polarity..... This is all provided you flip your pump the way you describe. What you do is remove the switch plate off the rocker switch housing. Then you pop out the switch housing with the wires all in tact. Rotate the switch housing 180 degrees , put it back in, and pop your switch plate back on. All done.

I did the ballast pumps 07 X2 turned pumps upside down motor to bottom, removed the top half and spun 180deg, all worked and was simple process. Some extending of hoses required so have a couple of feet handy and this was only to 1 side

Flip the pump and either undo the 3 screws on the brass part of the pump and turn it 180 degrees, or just pull the switch out and change the location of the two wires going to the pump. You can look in my ballast thread for the wiring option. Its what I did.

I just spun the top of the pump 180 in my 2003 x2. No additional hose or anything was needed.
