I have the attitude plate on my X-2. It definitely helps get the boat on plane. I just ran a test last weekend. With ~2500 pounds of ballast, I did a 0-25 mph drag run with the plate both up and down. With it up, it took 25.2 seconds. With it down, it took 16.4 seconds. If you leave it down, it does ruin the wake. With it up, I get a very good wake, of course I've never removed it completely to compare to.

well,..i made the first ride with the wakeplate on the x-star.
i filled the boat up with ballast and took a test ride alone,...just me, no spotter and no rider.
first thing i noticed that plane time was about 3 to 4 sec faster.

later that day i went out with 3 people and it actually works.
After our sets i looked at the trimtab from the swimplatform at wakeboarding speed and i noticed the plate still had a little drag in the up position.
So i will adjust that later on,...but for now i,m going to enjoy these last weeks of the season.
A lot of europeans run thier skiboats on lpg(propane),..on our test i opened ust 1 tank and i got more time out of it,..so i guess it is a fuel saver too.

i haven,t tested the tab on high speeds etc etc,...but i do not see any troubles with it,..i put it down at 45km.h it just pointed the bow down a little.

anyways.
it not a wakeplate,...not a trimplate,...i think calling it a wieghtplate covers it.
better plane times for heavely wieghted boats.

here is a video.
first start is plate in up position, second start is plate down.

X-Star guys,... i fine tuned the plate and took an actuator with a longer stroke.
All i can say is,....WOW!! a major improvement!!
after testing several props(except the 5 blade)the trimplate is the way to go if you running your X-star with 3000LBS and up>....getting her out of the hole with 3500lbs only takes seconds(LY6 engine) i have not timed it but defenetly under 8 sec.

Super stoked about the outcome,.....next project is how to hook it up to the big screen.
like the supra smart plate and 2013 mc tab settings.

set it and forget about it....that would be awsome.

i did,nt had the gopro with me today but i,ll shoot a vid next time we go out.

Holman,

Looks great! I installed an aftermarket attitude plate that i eventually linked to the BIG. for that i had to purchase a "brainbox" to connect to the plate to the BIG. It now displays the position of the plate on the screen and i can save different rider profiles with plate positions.
