2007 X1 Exhaust? can I just cut and install flaps?
Looking at all of my options as I blew out the MC plate on my left side exhaust tip. Seems like it was an issue with 07 boats.
So Im thinking to get me threw summer, just cut the tip so its like the newer versions and install the rubber flaps. Thoughts, good idea or piss poor? Thanks! |

yeah my whole assembly blew out and have a week at the lake coming up!
![]() Ordered some regular flaps from skidim and will see if that works. The internal flap would be better as All I would have to do is drill two holes in each tip. |

Is there a fix for those of us that have an 07 X1 and have not had this happen? does it get loose before it comes off? this is the first I've heard of this...

Looks to me like those internal flaps would just need two holes drilled and those little brass pieces must get crimped together...........but I dont know for sure. Thats why Im thinking of cutting them off flush and installing the external flaps. Looking at the 08 tips I would think they could be cut down and use the MC logo flappers by taping some new holes in the flange itself. I really dont care how they look as I dont want water in my engine. Last edited by brettmess24; 07-30-2012 at 04:47 PM. |

I was told at our local dealer that they don’t make the 07-baffels anymore. My whole baffle fell out and we boated like that for 4 months with no issues other than the boat being loud. Out fix was to install Fresh Air Exhaust (FAE). We have been boating with FAE for 4 months now and LOVE it. I would suggest/recommend going with FAE took an afternoon to install and you are ready to go. No change to the wake and boat is quite and music sounds way better now

The only time I can think of when if at all possible would be during landing........while engine is off. I like the idea of the FAE what did you buy? |
