Micro board companies ???
Hello all and Team Talk. I have always read the forums on here for years and now that I own a MC I figured I better get on TT and become part of the club. So yes I will respond to this first post thread.
I am looking for any information on some micro board companies (not even sure if thats what you would call them, such as microbrew) anyways I own a couple Gator Boards and I know they were a smaller but not that small of a company. I love my GB's but it appears they are out of business since 2011 and was wondering if there was anyone who know of anymore that were big enough to have some sort of online presence or where I can find any information on any companies making boards that aren't well known. BTW Team Talkers - thanks for the over 20 threads that have answered most of my questions on my "new to me" MC. I was starting to think I would never get to post a thread. |

I wouldn't call them "micro" but Ronix is one of the only "Rider Owned" companies out there that doesn't fall under the giant Kent Umbrella (LF, Hyperlite, CWB, Obrien all all owned by Kent).
Ronix also makes the best gear, hands down. Slingshot is my second favorite. |

I really like the Humanoid boards. Also in some of my research I found this:
http://www.ksl.com/public/deal/show/3272 Does that look legit?

Hey Team Talk,
I will throw our hat in the ring. I own and operate Day1 Wake. All of our surf boards are made by hand here in America. We can personalize/customize our boards for you based on 3 standard models that we offer. We just wrapped up the weekend as a sponsor of the Northwest Wakesurf Association's competition and stop on the World Series of Surfing. We fit the bill as a "micro" company since our distribution and production is at a much lower volume than the big guys... but we kind of like it that way ![]() Check out our site and demo videos, then drop me a line if you have questions. There's nothing I like more than helping out fellow MC owners! BMcD bmcdonald@liveday1.com Day1 Wake '06 8.1L X45 |

Slingshot boards are a made in USA bought a closeout reponse this summer and am really digging the flex and the wood core snowboard like construction. I've read a ton of good things about their boards that are built more like Ronix Hyperlite etc....

Slingshot boards: I see that they are in Oregon ... however the more and more research I do on this company I find it to have way more ties to Japan than the USA.

Slingshot started out as a kitesurfing company, then added wakeboards etc after a few years.

How are they tied to japan? Finances, Maybe I read the decks are made from sustainably harvested wood gron in the Pacific NW., not sure about the bindings and other parts though.
