Proper propeller for 190

On my 1990 ProStar190, 1:1, is 14x18 3 blades and I have 41 mph at 4100RPM. It is correct?

I believe the 14x18 propeller is the one that should be on the powerslot (w/1.5:1), I think the non-powerslot 1:1 propeller should be 13 x 13. I have never tinkered with mine but I am lead to believe that the shaft size is different so a person would have to go out of their way to put a 14x18 on a non-powerslot and vice versa. Are you sure you don't have the powerslot?

It is early (here), someone will be along shortly to give the definitive answer.

Wow, I'm no prop authority, but my 92 PS190 has a 1:1 transmission and came with a 13 x 13 which got me to roughly 41mph at 4100.

I've since upgraded to an ACME 541 which I believe is a 13 X 12.

Since the 1st number is diameter and the second is pitch, and pitch is the distance in the water per revolution, I'd say you should check the nameplate on your tranny.

OK, I took a few minutes to educate myself on props and did a quick calculation: based on a 1.5:1 transmission and an 18" pitch, assuming 12% slip, you should be going 41mph at 4100rpm.

(4100rev/min)(1rev prop/1.5 rev engine) (18in/rev prop) (60min/hr) (1ft/12in)(1mile/5280ft) * 0.88 efficiency = 41mph

Let me know if this jives with your tranny nameplate or if I am OOMFH
