Re-upholster self or pay???

Ok guys, I know doing it myself won't be easy, but I don't really now what it would cost for someone to do it. Any ball park figures to re-upholster a 240SC. I'll like leave the cabin alone, but do the 2 seats, engine cover, rear seat, sundeck, and sides....

Trying to determine if the $$$ are more than the time.

Call Jim at Viper Customs for a quote if you're anywhere close to TN. They just did my boat.

They are very reasonable vs shops in Cincy with work well above par, so much so that it was worth it to ship my boat each way.

I would say plan on around 3500 bucks if you want it to look like it does now.

If you have any areas that could be considered "little Mexico" in your area, you might drive around there and see if you can find an interior shop. I had a little shop in our hispanic region of Kansas City do my interior, and they charged me $1000 when everyone else was quoting me 2500+ for my S&S. They even replaced/sealed the wood under all the seats for that price, and did darn good work.

Might be worth checking out. Of course... be ready to pay with cash

I looked into the DIY option a couple of years ago. I was discouraged with a budget of about $800-1,000 for minimal qty but good quality vinyl, piping, carpet, hide-'em, SS staples, adhesive, a sewing machine and extensive amount of time. I'm sure there would have been a high level of waste with a trial and error method that was unkown. Plus, for the quality to look good, you'll sew three times for every double French stitch. I know vinyl has shot up in price since then too (petrolium based product).

As much of an over-achiever as I am, I know the work I would have done (or my wife), would never have been as detailed as this: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ighlight=viper

Ryan...judging by those pics, I need a pro to do this....I'm going to keep searching until I find the right one. Luckily, I'm not in a huge hurry at this moment.

Looks like that pic was taken at the Tickfaw Marina... if you are near BR give Bill a call at Antioch Auto Trim (225-753-9132). Not cheap but he does great work.
