Prostar 205 Wanted To Buy

Location, GA would be great, but SE US is ok for the right boat.

Wanted to buy
Mastercraft Prostar 205 walk through/open bow
Good condition, low hours
Ready to buy now
Not a dealer, boat is for me and my family
Non TT members can email me at mwc_ga1@bellsouth.net

This ad was posted as wanted Tristar 190, but my wife saw the boat and asked me to get a larger one. I hope this model will work.

I was trying to keep the budget down, this will fill the bill but the cost will go up 4-5k. Got to keep the wife happy!

Any thoughts on year, trying to keep the cost down below 15k. I understad the newer models are fuel injected. Does it matter that much if you have an older model with a carb vs. the newer FI models?

I am not ready to put mine up for sale but just my 2 cents. We have a 1994 205 that just turned 600 hours this week. We love it. It has the fuel injection and is very easy on fuel. Awesome boat. Good luck on your hunt. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341704729.202206.jpg

What are your primary objectives? 94-95 are both fuel injection and considered to have excellent ski wakes. 96+ are also excellent but is more of an all around boat with slightly better wakeboarding characteristics. However, the ski wake is very good....just not quite as good as the older model hull design.

For me, I prefer the 94' and absolutely love it!

Also, the 96+ will have slightly higher siderails.

We will be using the boat for family fun, we're not serious skiers or wake boarders. More like pulling my daughter around on a tube. I may try to pick back up on skiing, used to be pretty good in my younger days. I think any of the years will work. Question, what is the advantage of fule injected engine over an older on with a carb? We could save some money on the older models, but are willing to spend a little more if there is enough of a difference.

Either one is good but I prefer the FI myself. That's why I said 94-95. The hull actually was the same from 92-95. And the GT40 engine was also a very good carberated engine from what I've heard. I think there are two types depending in the heads....one has a higher hp rating than the other. Someone should chime in on the details of the carb engines.
