Question finally

Just got my new x15. does anyone know how the factory mirror installs?

Yes, you throw it in the dumpster and order one from PTMEdge....

Seriously though.

Otherwise it actually screws to the top of the windshield.

My 2008 x15 has a bracket on the tower and you just put the mirror arm into the bracket and there is a screw that holds it in. The mirror arm has two prongs that fit into the tower bracket. Mine does not connect to the windshield. The screw looks like a very small version of one of the tower screws that hold the tower arms. I would not throw mine in the dumpster.
