2012 Ilmor 6.0L - Is this normal?
The other day we had 5 average size adults (including myself) in the boat with only 1/2 tank of gas and no ballast. I was demonstrating the performance and handeling to our friends who are thinking of buying a boat some time. I noticed that the boat seemed fairly sluggish especially when doing a tight cornering from high speed. The RPM's will just continue to bog down in a full power turn and giving it more throttle does nothing, as the boaty continues to slow down substantially.
Would re-propping provide better tourque? Im just worried that if i load up the boat with 5 people and full ballast that the X25 would bog down and have trouble planing. My2009 Moomba LSV (340hp) seemd to perform better in a power hard turn.

Isn't an LSV like 1400lbs lighter?? I think you would need an additional 150hp to be on par with the power to weight ratio....
I had drivin an X-25 with a 6.0 Ilmore before I ordered my boat, and I noticed that it had the tendancy to scrub off a lot of speed in tight turns like that...... And also didnt turn very well at higher speeds either. I can say that the 6.2l + tracking fins, provides MUCH better performance in maneuvers like that. That being said, I think the 6.0 is powerful enough for that boat. I would prop it down a little bit. The big thing to remember is that an X-25 is a lot heavier, and drafts a lot deeper than a Moomba LSV. The nice part about that, is that it rides 10x better. |

I re-propped right away to ACME 2241 which is a 15" prop. Seems awesome, have had stock + 900 lbs plus 4 adults and 2 kids no prob getting on plane maybe 5 seconds...

![]() I have seen discussions about the 5 bladed prop but still waiting for some good feed back on how it performs with an X25.

I am question what purpose the stock prop is intended for (lighter loads or fully loaded)

I will for sure. I'll see how it does with stock ballast and with over 3000lbs of additional ballast
V-Man and his wife will be with us tomorrow too and they are also trying out this same prop.

we have ran the 5 blade all year. Works great. You loose top end but no issues pulling or surfing. On the forth we had 11 adults, no problem with power. Surfed the other day with 9 adults...no issue with power.
pulled my wife and Will Christien last week together and had no issues. 6.0l '12 x25 |
