The only reason the SEC players stay all for years is that they will take a pay cut when they enter the NFL.

I think what people are starting to notice now is that the spread offense is just ineffective against bigger schools such as the SEC and now the big name players/recruits are realizing that the traditional offense and defense (SEC) will prepare them better for the NFL.

So not claiming the SEC as the best conference, it's just the choice for the time being. Which made my last year in college pretty awesome.
