Bought a blue lake back in May and it is awesome. Easy to get up for first timers and allows for easy free ride. Worth the money IMO. Hot, what is your dial in for your x2, speed etc?

Speed is about 9.6 to 10.6 on the PP, we fill KGB, stock plus an overflow 425 in the rear locker on the surf side. If we have 4 or more peeps, add a 350 down the walkway. If we only have 2, we will use the 350 on the seats, surf side. Also, depending on peeps, will add about 25% on the center tab to lengthen the wave a bit. Adding one person in the bow, surf side also helps. |

Thx Matt...that is our setup except 0% on the center tab. do you go a tad faster the heavier the surfer is or slower?

I weigh 225 and 10 - 10.3mph was the sweet spot for me. Lighter riders do great at 10mph behind our X2.

With our '07 X2, factory ballast full and 2 adult males (~400lbs) on the surf side works pretty good. I am thinking of getting the wakemakers 455lb piggy back bag to add when we dont (and do??) have the extra passengers.

Do you think it is possible to have a wake that is too tall and not long enough. Last weekend, we had 6 adults in the boat. The factory ballast (KGB and Port Side Tank) were full plus the Fly-High 455lb sac in the port locker was full.
We ran at 10mph with the Attitude plate at 50%-ish. The wake was huge....but I wonder if we would benefit from more length than height. Any thoughts? MattsCraft - You always seem to have the answers to building the best surf wake!

more weight in the front will give the wake better length.

As far as riders, I have not made any adjustments for rider weight.
If your wave is tall but short, you need to add more weight to the center and front. Also, try bumping your speed up in .5MPH increments. My wave is pretty good with 0% to 25% tab, much past 50% I think will kill it. (My son the surf king, I use this to mess with him, tab slowly down to100% and the wave just goes away , for him, he prefers as much length as possible, vs. height, this gives him a good run into a 360 and allows for him to wash back on the turn and still stay in the pocket.) The water depth will also have some effect.I would also suggest dialing it in without a surfer, you can see what is going on much better than when the board/rider is creating some wash etc. Here is a video of his first 360 landed last year, you can see he takes a good run at to pull it off. Way beyond my ability... ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrQYi-DFYHE Hope this helps... |

Looking for a new board as well. Currently have a cheap crappy Elephecs and it works okay however big guys are still having a hard time staying in the pocket (I'm only 165lbs).
Looking for something that will work for anyone including a 225lb+ guy or a younger kid. Is there such a board, or, do I just need to get two boards? At any rate, time to step up the board game. |

I love the Inland Surfer Blue Lake. I am 225lbs and can free ride on it....and I think my wake could still use some work.
