Umm, it certainly does matter why. When someone is purchasing a used motor, they are going to want to know where it's from and whey it isn't in that vessel anymore. Could have water damage, could've been taken out of the boat improperly etc... hence the questions.

And normally one posts a price along with the OBO... from what I've seen anyway.

Yeah, to the person looking to buy an engine it matters a great deal where it came from and it would go a long way to helping you sell it.
