The in-laws did that with their house. 3 car garage in front, 1.5 car door on the backside that faces the lake. Makes it easy to take the toys in and out. Probably the most used garage door on the weekends. Toys, grille, tools, gas, beer.....
They also have a large separate garage (30x60) that has 2 doors across from each other. In the fall, we just drive through the garage and drop the boat off, then maneuver it into place with a trailer jockey.

PO of our new place did that in the shop although he cheaped out and put in a set of double 3-0 x 6-8 swinging doors. It is currently the only way to get the mowers from front to back and works well for that but nothing bigger than the mowers or Jeep will fit through.
One of these days there will be an 8x8 garage door in their place!

Pass Thru to open pad
We added a 3rd car single garage 12ish by 24 ish to the side of our 2 car garage. I put a regular garage door on the rear and it connects to a pad which is about 24 feet long, but connects to the rear patio too. Gave me extra parking, but couldn't afford a garage that long. It currently holds my 3rd car with room in the back for the garage stuff; tools, lawnmower, etc.
DO it, it will be worth it, BTW we're getting ready to build on the lake, we looking at America's Home Place to save money.
