1994 205 Water separator replacement

I have a 1994 205 prostar, Seem straight forward, spin the water sepertor off and replace Its that simple? You dont have to pre fill it. Just checking.

Have a similar on a chris craft - I never prime it.

I always dump my old one into a glass jar and watch to see how much water was in there.
