Stuffing/Packing Rope Size

I'm replacing the packing in my stuffing box due to a very leaky seal, and I was wondering if I bought the right size rope. Yesterday I picked up 1/4" wax rope just on a guess, and I'm hoping I won't be making another trip to West Marine today! Thanks in advance for any assistance. It's an 88' Prostar, 351, 1:1.

Thanks,
Pete
