1985 MasterCraft Prostar 190

I am selling my '85 Prostar 190. The boat is in very clean condition. Not perfect but exceptionally clean for its age. Cosmetically I give it an 8 out of 10. Mechanically it is perfect. Runs and drives perfectly. Powered by a 351 PCM / Ford. 1100 hours. Price is $7500.00.

I've owned the boat 7 years. It has required very little other than routine maintenance. I'm not in favor of selling it, but my wife saw a newer boat she just had to have. I Don't have room for them all so my prized MasterCraft has to go.

The boat comes with the mastercraft trailer. It isn't as nice cosmetically as the boat but it is perfectly functional and has new tires.

The boat also comes with a barefoot bar.

It's located just northwest of Milwaukee, WI.

Contact Mark at 262-689-0442 if you have questions.

That is an 86 Prostar and it is priced a little steep for the number of hours. Nice boat!

That's a good eye there on the '86 colors. The boat is actually an '85. This boat was born as a stars and stripes. The original owner was an Ohio State Alumni. He had the boat professionally re-done in the Ohio Buckeye colors in the late '80s. The striping package is from the '86 model year. This will likely cause some people to rip on me for not advertising it as a stars and stripes boat. I'm not trying to be misleading, but I just doesn't look like a stars and stripes anymore so I didn't see the point in advertising it as such. It looks like a Prostar so that's what I went with. As far as the price goes, I guess we'll see what happens. I tried to keep it consistent with what other M/C's are going for. It certainly doesn't run / drive like a boat with 1100 hours on it. Runs strong and perfect.

So that boat was repainted? If so that's sorta like taking a Trans Am and turning it into a Formula.

And I don't think an 85 or 86 MC was called a "prostar".......it's a 19' Skier.
The prostar name started in '87 with that hull change IIRC.

X2 on the 19 skier designation. Also, the hull angles in at the bottom, which is a change that occurred on the86 model. The graphics aren't the only visible difference between that boat and my 85. Could you get a pic from behind of the bottom of the transom looking forward toward the prop showing from the prop up to the platform?

The 86 was called a Prostar. In 87 it was the Prostar 190.

Well, I see I'm getting a good education on the differences between the various years and models of MasterCrafts. I didn't know there was that much to learn. Thanks to everyone who has chimed in here with the extra info. I added additional photos. The hull ID is MBCSABT8j485. Perhaps the extra photos and ID will better tell the story of the boat.

I don't pretend to know all the ins and outs of the different years and models. I thought they were all prostars in this vintage. Apparenlty not. What I do know is that I have a very nice, extra clean, incredibly well maintained boat here. It has given our family years of fun and it has a ton of fun yet to give to another family. Hopefully someone else will be able to enjoy it as much as we have; regardless of what the true name of it is!

Wow it looks like an 86 except for the open prop dish which would be an 85 mabey it was a late 85 production. The 86 prop dish was closed in the back. As in this pic of my old 86 (top)

The first 85.5 I've ever seen. Nice boat.
