Replacing Sub Help

Well my old clarion sub has a long crack in the cone and definitely needs to be replaced. Looking to get a new JL 10 infinite baffle. My question is whether I should leave the current surround (for lack of a better word) or take it out. And if I leave it should I dynomat it? Suggestion and thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1337219101.883780.jpg

I was thinking about trying one because I had read that they sound great mounted free air stlye. Try it with and without and see what sounds best.
