ok, new prop on, what is the noise?

Ok, put new acme 541 on, took it out tonight. Big difference in holeshot, topend! Just have one question, mine seems to have a new "noise" with the new prop, has anyone else had this experience, or is it just me?

WOW! You put a 541 on a PS190? I have one waiting to put on my Maristar. With all of the rave reviews I'm temped to make the 541 my primary and the stock the back-up!

What topend difference did you notice? I remember most people losing 1mph or so.

well, that could be it, but I think I would have noticed that! Seriously, the boat has a "whine" a lower speeds now, not sure if it is normal, or just me listening too close. As for performance....Holy s4!t! What a difference in holeshot!!! handles better, but a word of warning, the first time you let out of the throttle hard, hold on, it acts like brakes!

Mine sort of whines when you bring it back to neutral. It doesn't seem to hurt anything.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

Good to hear the reviews…

I put my 541 on today too.. I hope I get to give it a run this weekend. The Supra is “up” in the rotation this week. I should get out with the wife and kids though.
