'97 Prostar 190 New Carpet? Opinions needed on products and tips on installation

I have a 1997 Prostar 190, got her 3 years ago...It has been a gradual refurb.

Despite 1540 hours the engine is in great shape after getting some TLC this last off season.

I put in a new interior the first year and skipped the carpet. I am preparing my myself to redo the carpet this winter. I am looking for opinions on products especially from people who recarpeted DIY, and I am looking for tips on the actual installation process. I am a visual learner so pictures of the process would help.

I have searched the forum high and low. I find mentions of new carpet but no real how to and what to use.

All help is appreciated...Thanks in advance...

I replaced mine this winter, bought the carpet on ebay, it was a place in Dalton Ga, I had them send me a sample piece before I ordered it, and seemed to be good quality, I think it was 20oz, for glue I used outdoor carpet glue from Lowe's you put it down with a notched trowel, and for the places where I turned the carpet under (around edges) and on smaller parts I used contact cement, be careful pulling your old carpet out so you will have a pattern, not a bad job, just be patient and make sure it fits before you glue it.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

Littlefuss, I've been looking for the same info as I recently purchased 96 190. This is the best info I've found and may be helpful.

They also made the leather for the 1984 Chrysler LeBaron. Ricardo Monteban loved the Corinthian stuff!!
