need advice on garage quote

guys ... wanted to see if I'm in the ballpark here

I'm getting ready to build a detached garage ... 36x26 (actually it's 34 deep on one side and 36 on the other).

Quote for excavation, footers, block walls (32" height, 8x16" filled block) and 5" slab (rebar 24" OC) is $14,500 ... driveway addition is $6.10 per sq ft finished

I believe the foundation cost seems fair based on prices I've seen a couple of years ago but he driveway costs seems high ... wanted to get some other opinions

thanks

I built a 28' x 27' garage 4 years ago with full attic. Foundation was not separated but I know my total cost.

It may sound intimidating, but you can do it yourself for just for about $1.25 a sq ft.... it's not that bad, especially if you had a buddy with experience to help

Your building costs seems pretty good especially considering I just built a 30x50 pole building with 4 windows, 1 man door and 2 garage door openings (no garage doors) (20wide x 11 tall and 8x8) for the same amount. In terms of concrete, I have some friends who do it for a living for a larger company but then do work on the side as well and my quote from them is for $2.66/sqft. for 4inch thick.

Hope this helps.
