Are my brakes on my 08 trailer electric?

More than likely they're surge brakes. There are some enlightening you tube videos by UFP showing how they work

Ok I was wondering cause last time I towed I noticed my brake controller said no trailer connected kind of tripped me out

I am located in Australia, and on my 2007 MC trailer, due to our laws I did away with the surge brake system and fitted a Hydrastar electric brake set up...IMO, best thing ever for these trailers. I reckon I have increased fuel economy of at least 3ltrs/100kms (metric scale) and I dont have to worry about brake drag.

More info please!!! I love my electric brakes on my fifth wheel much more balanced and easy on the truck
