Exclamation How can I open the floor compartment? X-Star 2000

I am trying to access the area under what appears to be a hatch on floor toward the stern right in front of the rear, front facing bench. The bilge access black screw top is in the center of this panel. I can't seem to find and screws or other latches.

Your help is greatly appreciated!!!!

I have an '07 X1 pretty much same boat as yours. That piece of the floor is not screwed down, it's just a tight pressed in fit. You should be able to get it out without taking out the center section of the rear seat. But be careful because it fits under the seat.

You should be able to pry up on the front of the floor section with a regular screwdriver or stiff putty knife. As you get the front part up just pull it forward out from under the seat.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2003 X2.Should be the same as your 2000 xstar.
X-1 Texas is right there are no screws holding that part of the floor down.
There are 4 bolts that hold the center section of the rear seat base togethor I removed those bolts and pryed up the seat base this will give you alittle more room to work out the panel.
Heres a pic.
