Awesome, Congrats H2oboy that is one proud looking big brother!!

2Rlake, Nice buck! I know you know that wordless level of pride watching your little one take their own animal----more exciting than my own success!! I have been taking my son and daughter on hunts since they were each over three. Started with swamp-buggie hog hunts to ground blind turkey hunts. Here in Tennessee youth can hunt big game with an adult at 6. They even have early season for youth only. My son took a turkey a few weeks after he turned 6 on the spring youth hunt. He took his first deer at 7, ironic it was a nice 7pt. This past youth turkey hunt my son gave up his bird to his best buddy from Colorado who had never been hunting, but after hearing stories from my son wanted to go. It was a killer hunt cause we had a sweet double--his buddy shot his with some help from his Dad and then my daughter shot the second with help from me. I have always had them practice anything over 22 rim on a "lead sled" so they never feel recoil unless its during a hunt. Those first birds and my boys 7pt I shouldered the gun with them on my lap while they line it up and pull trigger. Now the doe was shot this year by my son (8) without any help from me at all (Youth model 243). We nearly had a chance for my daughter to get her first deer at the same time but the three of us in a two man ladder stand is getting tighter as they get bigger, and we just couldn't get her on the deer after my son shot---next time

I know hunting isn't for everyone but the responsibility of guns, life, and just qulity time together is awesome. Unlike some activites we can enjoy the outdoors, God/health willing, until we all get old.

We were at the cincinnati boat show last weekend and walked past the new ATV wheelchairs with tracks ... My son looked at those and said he'd get me one when I'm old so I can get to the tree stand! Absolutely agree with you

Dad Life

Not any pics of the kids attached, but this video will for sure put a smile on your face. Just wish they would have included a verse about our BIG boat toys!

Not even 2 and already playing with the stereo while behind the wheel. Is this what I'm in for when he can really start to drive?
