Milkmania: Thanks for the compliment on slow progression. After each ski we would talk about what she wanted to do next.

As for the skis they were a pair of old junior skis I found at a consignment store. I added white plastic PVC 9" seperator to the front using rope and two stainless steel "u" shaped brackets. On the back of the skis I added two more "u" shaped brackets with a lighter gage 11" rope (no PVC seperator on the back). But what really helped on the back was a 3 lb diving weight cut in half and one half screw mounted to the tail of each ski - this made the skis float tips up and tails down!
