Very cool! That's what we did with my daughter when she was 3. The kid loved it. FWIW, once we got her "longline" (like 37') we took the strap off the kneeboard, seemed safer. She rode that way for years, even after she learned to ski.

I agree with the strap not being on. When I was young I got caught under the kneeboard strapped in. I was lucky, but once you start to panic you do not think of getting the strap off. With that said I guess the strap could be loose as long as there is enough play to get out easy.

It looks like he may be holding the board with his feet so that his son is stable on the board.

Thanks for the tip on not using the strap when the kids on. I always have used the strap...but then again I didn't start at 2 either! The more I think about it this...the more I like this idea!!

You are correct...I was holding it with my feet to keep the board balanced. Until I thought he was doing so good that I let go with my feet and he looked over to the side too far and the board flipped him over!!!

I went in after him so fast!!! He came out of the strap quickly because it was not even tight over his knees. He was OK, just a bit confused wondering what had just happened!

I suspect it would have been better for him had he not been strapped in at all! Which is how IT WILL be from now on for ANY kid that rides the board!!

Most importantly though, he is having fun while doing it, so keep up the good work

Good idea - no strap. My 11 yr. old daughter still doesn't use the strap, along with my younger sons. Of course that would limit thier ability to stand on the board and give dad a big thumbs up!
