We slalom behind a real woody every summer. The one and only ski antique. My dad built it from scratch back in the 50's. Direct drive inboard Chevy v8 with marine conversion out of 56 pickup. The hull is remarkably similar to a tournament ski boat.

I think it would be better if the wrap went all the way down the hull. Still not for me. I would die for the real deal though.
