Got the boat out last night on Rathbun for the first time this year. Wasn't planning on it, but the water was glass, so I skied for a bit. Put in at Honey Creek resort boat ramp because I didn't figure it would be busy and its the closest to where I store the boat. Skied on the main body ... love when we can do that. We might be heading out this weekend, but the in-laws are in town, so I am not sure.

What boat storage place do you use? The ones up the road from the honey creek state park entrance?

I keep it at "The Cave". Maybe a mile before the Honey Creek Resort entrance, and about a mile and a half before the BIG town of Iconium.

We'll be camping at the South Fork campground at Rathbun this weekend. Anyone else going to be around?

NP, we are there pretty well every weekend, haha. Nothing else to do in southeast iowa during the summer.

We're having a party at the Des Moines Power Boat club this Saturday for anyone who would want to join. It's located just north of Downtown Des Moines on the DSM river between 2nd and 6th ave.

Bring a boat down or just come with your gear and trunks! Plenty of smooth water, food, beer and boats!

Anyone who wants to camp is welcome to as we have a pretty big footprint but not a whole lot for power/water hook-ups.

We'll be skiing/setting up all morning. Music, skiing and lawn games start around noon and the grills will fire up around 2:30.

That sounds like a great time. I wish that we could be there however we are heading down to the River to spend some time with dad. The forecast puts the river level below flood stage so we might actually get the boat on the water. Depends if the Corp open the ramps
