Does anyone know how well these effect the wake? I have tried 300 lb bags in my rear locker with a 300 lb bag in the bow. In my experience it flattened the wake shape a bit. i had much better results moving the stern weight forward a bit with one bag right in front of the rear seat. It also looks like these tanks will eliminate any board storage option. with all of that said, I am thinking it would be really nice to have ballast that I don't trip over. Is there a price on these tanks?

One of the many reasons I went with the newer X2. With those hard tanks in place you won't even get a wakeboard in there for storage. Unfortunately the boat just wasn't designed for the new style ballast systems so retrofitting, as usual ends up being a compromise solution.

I wonder if these would tuck in the corner of my X25.....that would be SICK, I'm going to look into it

I would not argue that. Truely a masterpeice hull with a long lived run.

I am new to the whole wakeboarding experience. In fact I don't have my boat yet, but I had always thought that the rear tanks were more for surfing and to get a big wake for boarding you need your weight to be up front in the ski locker and bow area. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You need both. Rear for size, bow for shape and ramp style. each boat is different and it takes some experimentation to find the ideal distribution. I have a 205 v and my wake actually gets washed out with additional weight too far astern. I use one or two bags in front of the rear seat and one bag in the bow.it also depends how many people we have on board.

Ok. I see. Thanks. Now for surfing you want as much weight as you can get in one corner of the stern as close to the transom as you can get it right? Or do you need some weight up front as well?

I have 2 500 gallon fat sacks in the back of my X2 plumbed them into the existing balast system. freaking sweet ride when filled!
