I am still a bit nervous about buying a boat that I have never skied off of. I feel i got a good mid-winter deal on it and after all, it is a Mastercraft. Last summer I skied off of a 2003 Moomba Mobius with the standard carburated engine and it seemed a bit underpowered with a full boat of people.

Welcome to TT. Love the boat and the colors.

How does yours pull? Any issues I should look for before hitting the water? |

Nice looking boat! I have the baby version of same year and motor in my 190.
Verify who winterized it. Dealer vs owner. Make sure you go through and inspect your impeller before hitting the water. Critical piece of equipment yet only costs 30 bucks or so to replace (IIRC on price). |

Thanks Guys, Has anyone had the rear seat and trunklids recovered? Any ballpark of the cost? The rest of the upholstery is in great condition.

You mentioned Copycat Covers. Ask lots of questions and then think twice. I had them do the observer's seat on mine. They did a great job . . . except that the X5 logo section was installed upside down and they forgot some stitching on the fold-down portion in the walk-through. I returned it and they eventually fixed it at no charge, but it took over 5 months start to finish and I got stiffed on the return shipping which they promised to pay but never did. They were going through some management/owner issues so maybe that's settled. Caveat emptor. If you search on this board there are some other good upholsterer recommendations.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by your EFI engine. Starts better, runs better and I'm sure decent HP for pulling you. The 209 is a versatile boat with a lot of room. I like the ND tower too. Just looks better than the newer ones in my opinion. Take a close look at all of your interior now that you are replacing some of it. The interior has not been known to be stellar in your era of boat so now is a good time to really go through it with a fine tooth comb. Great color! Any more pics? Oh, yea. This is an awesome forum and you can learn a ton! Very active too so participate as much as you can. Does it have Perfect Pass?

We have an 01 X-9. Same boat, although we too have the LTR 330. Great all around boat. Plenty of space. Look for screws or bolts in the bilge. We saw a few over the course of a year and a half and never knew where they were coming from. Finally discovered where, when the alternator cooling fan started rubbing on its housing. The bolts holding it together were breaking one by one. This problem is not unique to this boat or engine, could happen to anybody. Now the fuel pumps are a different story...

Great looking boat. I have the exact same year/color combo except mine is a PS 195 and I do not have a tower simply a slalom boat. I have experienced zero problems with mine and am very pleased with it's performance. I see you are in IL, where about? I'm in Rockford.
