I would like to get a new one too for my 07 xstar...dealer says they are around $200 which seems pretty steep.

$200 is a steel. There are typically $500-700 OE or custom

I bought one from Ameribrand products for my '07 PS214. Took the measurements and installed myself. Cost was just shy of $500.
Dealer estimate was $1000 installed for the OEM. In hindsight I wish I had saved the money and gone with the dealer but there was an immediate need for it. (first summer with our first child so we had to have if for his sake) The difference is the mounting of the bimini itself. Mine, you have to drill and mount to the fiberglass at 6 mounting location (3 per side). From what I understood on the OEM top was that at least the front mounts get fastened to the rail of the windshield. It's a very solid connection. |
