I would love to build a wood boat. You did a great job. What plans did you use, or did you just build it out of your head?

WOW is all I can say. That had to be a kit. If you did that from scratch over one winter, you sir are some kind of god.

In any case, you now have your kids hooked on boating for life. Well done. I grew up with a 1952 Century. There's nothing like a nice wood boat.

Lastly, if it's not a kit - seriously, quit your job and start taking orders.

I'd think non-existent with little to no bump

boat kit

It was a kit I guess you could say. A guy in KY that restores old wooden boats opens up his shop twice a year for what is called family boat builds. They have everything laid out and you spend the weekend building the boat when you leave it's all together but not 100% complete. He tells you what to do and when your done he will tell you what to do next, so he keeps you in line. I had everyone from my grandfather all the way down to my daughters to help build it. It was worth every penny. They send everything home with you and you complete it at your house. I have 14 coats of sealer and varnish. It took some time!

They were great people and we fully enjoyed it.

Here's the link to their website.

jgraham you're in my neck of the woods. If you ever need a spotter, I'd chip in for gas and wipe the boat down when done. That boat is awesome! I would love to build one of those for my nephews. I noticed you don't have registration numbers on it, do you plan on getting them and how hard would that be?
