Normal or not for amp overheating

Quick question - I have a Memphis Marine 5 channel in my x1 - under the glove box. Few weeks ago, it was running near 100 degrees outside and we were out in boat - after a couple hours, amp cut off - turns out it was going into safe mode. Later, came back on and worked fine after it cooled.

Wondering if this would worry anyone - not a whole lot of airflow in that space and I am thinking a lot of amps would have had a similar issue?

It was close to $500, when it goes, I'll definately go with the newer JL.

I've only had that happen 1x. When parked in a cove or something I usually try to open a seat or something to get some air circulating. I don't like the thought of heat+moisture+electronics.
