I have an 06' 6.0 with a little over 114K on it. I put on about 25K+ a year towing a heavy toy hauler, sled trailer, loaded bed with rail and trailer full of wood, and the truck doesn't even know the boat is there. We climb a lot of high mountain passes. I love my truck.

It is stock. I will be doing the EGR delete with an updated oil cooler and coolant filter with blue spring update kit this winter. The key with this truck is to keep up on maintenance because they completely rely on oil for everything. And only use Motorcraft oil filters and fuel filters.

Only issue I have had is the F.I.C.M. last winter which trashed my batteries. Turbo is still strong. It is also my daily driver..

If your going to look at a 6.0 or any diesel for that matter invest in a Scanguage II so you can take all the readings from the PCM when you test drive.. That will save you a lot of time and money.

Adding to the tremendous response about this topic, I have a 2004 F-250 King Ranch that has never failed me. I have had the EGR delete done, cold air intake and added a SCT tuner. Everything else is original with 114,756 miles. Truck runs awesome and I pull my X2 with ease and confidence with my truck. New or Used a vehicle will at some point require maintenance just like our beloved MC's. Good Luck!!!!!!

Tundra and couldn't be happier.

I don't need lots of pulling power and when I do I don't need to be the first to the top of the mountain.

This is not true at all. The big three all have very similar power ratings and not worth discussing 3 HP or 20 TQ. Those numbers are not noticable at all. Where it counts is actual performance and towing. Hook a trailer up to them and then revisit your statement. Duramax completely dominates the other two when it comes to towing. Go read any head to head comparison or the the "King of the Hill" tests.

You picked some bad years and ford models...

I too have a Tundra 5.7.... It is probably right there or better with ANY OTHER fully loaded 1/2 ton PU out there...

For most of the MC current line up this is plenty for casual and Vacation trailering...

The for F250 diesel 6.7 is my mental upgrade...just don't "need" it
