Portable Jump Starter?

Does anyone carry one of the 12V portable jump starters onboard? I looked at one yesterday...750 CCA's, small, lightweight and could get you home instead of a tow if the battery dies. Thought I'd ask the questions:

Good, bad, not needed, etc?

i feel if i bought one, it would jynx the whole system. I'd forget to turn the battery switch off 'both', and also forget the booster pack in the truck... Double fail. haha

I bought one this year, but have only used it on a car. Works like a charm and can't believe I haven't made it standard boat equipment sooner. Compact and gets the job done.

Link to the one I have

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

The price is really right on that along with plenty of power.

I like the idea of them, but I've found them to not be as strong as needed in alot of cases to get the job done.

What I've done on my 93 205 is drive the pickup forwards down the ramp, walk the boat back the to the truck and use the truck to jump the boat.

Obviously, the CCA rating on mine is a little low. But I bet it would do the trick in a pinch.
