prop question

Here is a question posed by a friend of mine. He has an 06 X-1 and wants a spare prop. The boat is over in PA and he has no idea of what is on it now. If you were to get a spare for that boat that typically has 5-7 people in it that wakeboard, pull tubes, and teach little kids to ski, what would you get?

I'm waiting on my buddy to get back with me on what engine the boat has in it.

Thanks

My '05 X-star with an MCX likes the OJ 14.75 X 15.5 prop for all-around use. That includes wakeboarding with 2000# of ballast, cruising and also an occasional barefoot run.

I have the 14.25 X 14.5 prop as a spare which is a great wakeboard prop with extra heavy ballast, but not such a great prop for higher speeds/cruising.

Assuming he has the stock prop on it, since he doesn't even know what it is, then it's most likely a 13.7x17 with either the RTP or the MCX.
Does he like the prop? Assume so since he is only looking for a spare. 13.7x17's are pretty plentiful used as alot of people prop down from there.
If he wants to use the spare and wants more holeshot without giving up much top end, get the new OE prop 14.75x15.5. Even more holeshot, less topend, get a 14.xx by 14.xx. There's several variations from OJ and Acme.

BTW, he should put the new prop on and use his oe prop as the spare.
Where is he in PA?

I have the standard prop on my 06 x1 with RTP, looked at the change meg made but I have plenty of power out of the hole to dislocate my shoulder now so picked up a 13.7 X 17 cheap compared to the new larger prop
