Will this
I'm looking at upgrading the original alternator to support all the additional accessories. I was going to just have it rebuilt locally but it looks like I can buy new one for less.
Will this alternator work on my '96 Maristar 200? (NOT the LT1 engine) Delco Marine Alternator Mercruiser 3-Wire 105 AMP http://www.amazon.com/Delco-Marine-A.../dp/B003Q7V2DS Anyone else used these alternators? I'm surprised at how cheap they are. It looks like it would fit by looking at the pictures but I'm not positive. |

I just bought a similar one wire 105amp for my 81 to replace the 35amp and used amazon as well. It looks to be good for the little cash I spent, about $70 shipped, which was cheaper than having the alt shop rebuild the factory one for $120ish. I have not been able to use it yet since we are moving

fit?
OK, I had a similar altenator built for my 95 Maristar. I have the LT 1 though. Went from 50 amp alt to 105 amp. The wiring all matched my factory unit....
However, the issue I had and you will probably face is the case was a bigger diameter than the lower output case. I had to modify my brackets to hold the larger alt. It all looks factory now, but the mounting was a test of fabrication skills. I did this 2 summers ago and do not regret it one bit. Rob |
