Wakesurfing sweet spot

This is the first year I've tried surfing and I'm having issues taking tension off the rope. Occasionaly I'll get it, but then it just ends. Any clues of what I might be doing wrong?

I can not surf worth a crap, but I am getting better at creating a surf wake for those who can. In case it helps:

What speed are you running? Looks too fast. 10 to 12 mph usually.

You need much more ballast in the boat. It should be leaning to the surf side to the point that you are concerned. Then add a little more weight....

Subtle movements on the board. You look like most of your weight is staying on your back foot. Try keeping much more of your weight on your front foot, which is your throttle.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm gonna pick up a 450lb bag. That should help the wave. PP shows about 11mph but I'm worried it's wrong. I have a paddlewheel speedo.

750 # bag in rear locker
400# bag on the rear seat
fill front KGB
put everyone on starboard side, one person in front

ride the board a little closer to the rooster tail
put more weight on your front foot to speed up, more weight on rear foot to slow down

Your form looks great otherwise, try surfing with less carving at first until you can toss the rope then start carving

Today went a lot better. Really tried weighting the front of the board and slack was coming out of the rope. Definitely need more weight though.

That is what our X2 looks like with
-4 people on port side of boat
-400lb bag in the Port Locker
-Factory Port Full
-400 lb bag on the port side seat
-Factory KGB full
-one person up front on the port side also

PP at 10.2 should have be at 8.4 - 9 mph that day with the all the chop and wind.

Hope this helps.

Thanks I finally got it today. Had 11 on PP and stock starboard and KGB filled. I still need more weight, but I was able to get rope free. Also did some doubles with my 2 year old daughter. She's awesome.

Try the cheap way for weight. Get some chubby friends... give them a few beers and you have your fat sacs as needed.
